Many people have participated in the revolution, mainly civilians, military and Church leaders such as Jaime Cardinal Sin.The downfall of President Ferdinand Marcos who led the dictatorial government caused the declaration of  Corazon Aquino to be the president of the Philippines ,a position left by Marcos.
